When the drought hit, we were all asked to cut back. We did. Then we were told, because of the decrease in water needed, your revenues decreased. SoCal utility companies get well above the nationwide average rates so one would think with the economies of scale you would be doing well, but the funds we pay to utility companies are squandered. I propose a decrease in rates to the nationwide average, and that you use zero based budgeting to provide services that minimize inefficiencies throughout every cost center.

I oppose this increase! As a self-employed small business owner, I may suggest find other ways to cut your expenses and stop increasing our bills, especially during these critical times.

No more increases! learn to live within your means like the rest of us have to! Have your employees contribute more toward their benefits, adjust their salaries, or furlough them one day a month, etc. I am sure there are other ways of balancing your budget without increasing the rates. You are contributing to driving the middle class out of California and we have had enough!

Might I suggest you learn how to properly manage your money and stop asking for more? Why must you always come to us with your palms out? Enough already! And the amount of your proposed increase it totally outrageous. Added to that, your timing is abominable! Surely you must see that.

We need to know what improvements will be made with that much money. Why do they need this increase.

As many others are inquiring, what are the specific reasons to this increase? I am completely against this increase if no valid itemization is provided to show need of such increase. During these trying times such an increase would be detrimental to many as well.

Residents can’t afford another increase. Cut costs and figure out a way to manage your money better instead of asking us to pay for this ridiculous increase.

This is an outrageous increase for no specific reasons given. I oppose this increase, please evaluate your budget instead of asking for more money. The city has reduced water waste by removing much of the plants from the medians, so I would really like a specific itemization of what a 20% increase is needed for.

I am also against this increase. As a homeowner, I have other bills to worry about. With limited income coming in, this would not help us in the least. The increase amount should be revised, if any would be made.

During this pandemic it is morally repugnant to consider any raise in our rates, much less a 26% raise. What is the raise based on? Have the management staff taken a pay cut and given up any of their benefits which are far better than most of the users of their water. I say no to any increase.

No to a rate increase. Very excessive as well in terms of an increase percentage. I wish my income increased this much at the rate being proposed. Please reconsider.

This is insane! We cannot afford a 26% increase. We are lucky we can make a house payment and keep our electricity on.
